The island rises to 344 meters with hilly terrain covering 42 square kilometers. Small villages like Popolii sit near beaches, and nearby Bajau stilt villages built over reefs offer glimpses of traditional fishing life. Bioluminescent plankton swims happen at night in certain bays.
